Welcome to Women On Tap – a celebration of women and beer and Yorkshire’s own brewster beer festival.
LATEST NEWS: Audio from A Conversation On Women & Beer on Sun 6th May is now available.
We are all about the women who brew it, the women who write about it, the women who drink it, the women who work in the industry, the women who want to learn more about it… and their friends, families and partners. Everyone is invited and welcome.
The first ever Women On Tap Beer Festival was held at The Little Ale House on the weekend of 19-21 May 2017 and featured guest beers brewed by women or by breweries with female leaders (many local); alongside an art exhibition, live music, and some very exciting ticketed beer tasting sessions run by one of the UK’s leading beer experts – the award-winning Melissa Cole.
The second festival took place on 2-6 May 2018 at five different venues across Harrogate & Knaresborough. With a total of 10 different events over five days, plus tap takeovers and art exhibitions, Women On Tap has well and truly exploded since year one!
The reception of Harrogate’s first two Women On Tap Beer Festivals demonstrate how much local people are behind this initiative. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
So what’s next?
What we want to do now is raise the profile of not only Women On Tap in the wider beer industry, but also to fly the flag for Harrogate as a serious player in terms of brewing, beer expertise and the town’s range of quality craft beer and real ale establishments. In order to do this we host regular open socials and occasional pop-up events, and we collaborate with other awesome industry folk who share our goals and values. We are also planning Women On Tap 2019…
